HOW DO I PREPARE?

Alright, you’re ready to take the leap with at least one cleaning! Awesome! Simply click the “Book Now!” button to set up your first maid service appointment. Unless you set up recurring cleanings, we won’t bug you to book again. It’s your call because it’s your home.
Before cleaning day, our team will be in touch via email or phone to gather some details. Will you be home, or is there a code we can use to get in? If you want recurring house cleaning, is there a door key we can keep for easy access? Do you want a general overall cleaning of all rooms, or are there extras you’d like to add, such as interior refrigerator cleaning or interior window cleaning?
On cleaning day, we’ll arrive ready to work. If you have any items of particularly high value, like an antique vase or heirloom, we’ll ensure they’re given wide space. We recommend doing your best to rein in as much clutter as possible—**cough children’s toys cough**. While we’ll happily deal with clutter, it may mean a price adjustment due to the extra work. Either way, we’re here to serve you, and if you just want help with clutter, that’s what we’ll do!
Afterward, you’ll receive an email from us asking how the cleaning service went. Choose the smiley 🙂, neutral 😐, or frowny 🙁 face and share any thoughts, concerns, or compliments. Your feedback is central to our operations. It helps us determine which housekeepers earned a bonus, what we can improve upon, and what we did exceptionally well so we can pass on the praise to the appropriate team member. Your feedback influences performance bonuses, raises, and who gets their choice of cleaning jobs, helping us become a better housekeeping business.

Forgetting about your booking is common, especially among first-timers. But there’s no need to worry! If this is the first time you’ve hired our services, or if this is a one-time service, we will call the day before to ensure your home will be available for cleaning on the next day.


We just need a few things from you to get ready beforehand.


First things first, decide whether you are staying home during the cleaning service, if you are leaving right before handing the keys, or if you will not be home. Promptly let us know during the booking process or before the cleaning day to ensure our staff will be able to enter your home.


Next, please declutter your home a little bit. Of course, this doesn’t mean you need to vacuum, wipe surfaces, dust, or any other cleaning-related task. That’s what we are here for! We just need you to pick items up off the ground and arrange items the best you can. For our cleaners, this means less time and energy spent picking up items, allowing them to focus on cleaning your home.


Finally, don’t forget to place important documents in a safe area such as a drawer or cabinet. Otherwise, they could be mistakenly disposed of by our cleaning staff.

After you take all previous steps, feel free to plan out your day while we clean your home!

We have no problem working with pets! If they are friendly around strangers, feel free to let them roam around your home.


However, if you think they might be aggressive or agitated around our staff, please place them in a secured area or take them to the park while our cleaners work. The last thing we want is an accident or someone getting injured.

At Volunteer Maids, we work hard to ensure your satisfaction throughout the entire process: before, during, and after your cleaning. Part of this involves quality control once our staff completes the service.


The day after your cleaning service, we will call you to ask a few questions about our staff’s performance and interaction with you.


Occasionally, we will request an online review. This will take no more than 5 minutes and helps us showcase our work while assisting others in deciding if our cleaning service fits their needs.


For regular customers, we will follow up occasionally to ensure everything is going perfectly and maintaining our top-notch quality.


If you are less than happy at any point during the service, please call us within 48 hours. We will listen to your concerns, take note, and if the cleaning process was not followed correctly, we will fix it at your earliest convenience at no additional charge.

It’s perfectly normal to hire a one-time service to test the waters and see if you would enjoy recurring cleanings in the future.
